Add Tally Counter to your home screen
Add Tally Counter widgets to your home screen or lock screen for quick one-tap counting without opening the app. This guide walks you through adding, customizing, and managing widgets.
Adding a Widget
Five simple steps to get widgets on your screen.
Press and Hold
On your home screen or lock screen, press and hold any empty space. A menu appears with options to customize your screen.
Tap the + Button
In the bottom left corner of the customization menu, tap the + icon to add a new widget.
Search for Tally Counter
Type "Tally Counter" in the widget search bar to find the app and see available widget options.
Choose a Widget Size
Tally Counter offers small (1x1) and medium (2x2) widgets. Swipe to preview each size and select your preference.
Add to Your Screen
Tap "Add Widget" to confirm. Choose whether to add it to your home screen or lock screen. The widget appears immediately.
Select Your Counter
If you have multiple counters, the widget may ask which one to display. Choose the counter you want quick access to.
Widget Types & Features
Explore the different widgets available.
Small Widget (1x1)
Compact widget showing just the counter value. Perfect for lock screens or when space is limited. Tap to increment or decrement the count.
Medium Widget (2x2)
Larger widget with counter name, value, and color. Provides more context at a glance. Shows the counter's emoji or color theme. Interactive buttons for quick actions.
Lock Screen Widgets
Tally Counter widgets work on iOS lock screens. Add small widgets to your lock screen and tap them to count without unlocking your phone. Perfect for quick tracking throughout the day.
Interactive Buttons
Tap the plus button to increment. Tap the minus button to decrement. Instant counting without opening the app. Widget updates in real-time as you count.

Widget Troubleshooting
Common issues and solutions.
Widget not appearing?
Make sure Tally Counter is installed on your device. Widgets only appear if the app is installed. Try restarting your iPhone and try adding the widget again.
Widget not updating?
Force close the Tally Counter app and restart your device. Sometimes widgets need a refresh to sync with the app. Make sure iCloud sync is enabled if you use multiple devices.
Can't tap widget buttons?
Make sure your device is unlocked and not in low power mode. Some widgets have reduced functionality when phone is locked or in power saving mode. Try tapping directly on the + or - buttons.
Wrong counter showing?
Press and hold the widget and tap "Edit Widget" to change which counter is displayed. This lets you assign a different counter to any widget on your home screen.
